My journey as a Creative Director began as Editor for my high school yearbook at Radford High School,
as the first woman and Junior to be voted into position. I received VA State journalism awards for
articles written about high school bands. I also drew the cover image.
Following high school, I attended Radford University and graduated in 2000 with A Bachelor of Fine Arts
Degree with concentration in Painting, Cumme Laude. After college I taught Art and Digital Photography
at Garringer High School , Equity Plus II school, in Charlotte , North Carolina. I also conducted interviews
for Southern Sports Journal. In addition I received a cosmetology license from Aveda Institute in
Charlotte and I had opportunity to become a trained Hair Color Specialist with Toni & Guy European
Salon. I have held a cosmo license for 17 consecutive years and counting.

Attended Winthrop University 2012 to 2014, received Master’s of Fine Arts with concentration in
Sculpture. I was recipient of Winthrop Woman of Excellence Award for Salute to Couture Fashion Show
benefitting Student Veterans Center and Wounded Warrior Project. As the Creative Director, I was
responsible for acquiring sponsorship and funding from local and corporate organizations, negotiating
contracts with models, performers, and vendors while helping to develop the creative vision and
marketing plan and the management of all media related to the event. The project has left me with a
solid understanding of the arts management in community settings and the challenges and rewards of
art fundraising and sponsorship.

I am a cooperative, organized and resourceful person, with a determination and capacity to think
outside the square. A strong team player, I also excel when I am faced with tight deadlines and under
pressure.

I currently live in Blacksburg Virginia and am beyond excited about my new Creative Director and Head
of Marketing position. I am eager to build relationships with community artists and local industries. I am
currently a working professional artist and enjoy making oil paintings and working with new technology .
I love working outside and if you venture thru downtown Blacksburg you may see me in progress. I look
forward to all of the challenges that I will face in my future endeavors, and through those challenges, I
hope to continue to grow as an artist and as a person. I am excited about the possibilities of art, the
myriad of skills I have acquired and the journey which I am ready to embark as Creative Director for 16
Blocks. I hope to see my work have a profound and positive effect on people and communities.
